Mayoral Inauguration - May 2016
On the 16th of May 2016 there was a ceremony at the Winter Gardens, to swear in the new Mayor of Margate for the year 2016/2017
The Greek community, because of the excellent relations it cultivated with the local authorities over the years, was invited to attend the ceremony and we were delighted to do so
The president of the community Mr. Michael Papadopoullos and his wife Ariadni, Mr Antonios Antoniou and his wife Loula, Mr Michael Dianellou and his wife Mary, Mr George Antoniou and his wife Maro, Mr George Papageorgiou and Mr Marios Towgli, all attended
After the ceremony titbits and refreshments were offered. The members of our community that attended the ceremony had the opportunity to congratulate the Worshipful Mayor and for their re-election

Following from our Mayor Making Ceremony and AGM held 16th May 2016, I can advise that Cllr Robin Edwards and Mrs Dorothy Collins have been re-elected as Mayor and Mayoress of Margate for the Municipal year 2016-17, and that Cllr Rosamund Dixon and her Consort Mr Geoffrey Dixon were similarly re-elected to serve a further term as Deputy Mayor and Consort. Our best wishes to all newly elected and re-elected Mayors and Deputies for a happy and successful term in office.
